Two-fluid physical modeling of superconducting resonators in the ARTEMIS framework

In this work, we implement a new London equation module for superconductivity in the GPU-enabled ARTEMIS framework, and couple it to finite-difference time-domain solver Maxwell's equations. We apply two-fluid approach model superconducting coplanar waveguide (CPW) resonator. validate our implementation by verifying that theoretical skin depth reflection coefficients can be obtained several superconductive materials, with different penetration depths, over range of frequencies. Our convergence studies show algorithm is second-order accurate both space time, except at interfaces where spatially first-order. CPW simulations, leverage GPU scalability code compare more traditional approaches approximate behavior demonstrate physics comparable performance assumption quasi-infinite conductivity as measured Q-factor.
